Learn how to organize a drop-off event with Event Handler

WHAT MAKES DROP-OFF EVENTS SO SUCCESSFULL?

Basically, there are two models for microscale sales events:

  1. Shop-in-Shop model: The organizer rents out space to vendors, who then set up shop and sell their items.
  2. Retail store model: Vendors drop off their inventory and the organizer controls the point of sale and distributes revenue to the vendors after the event.

The reasons to go with option number 2 are similar to why retail stores exist in the first place: Manufacturers (in our case vendors) can focus on their merchanise, and store owners (in our case event organizers) can focus on guaranteeing the customers an optimized and streamlined shopping experience. The organizer can create a unified, rather than fragmented, shopping experience, where customers find what they need faster and more comfortably. On top of it, this model is more profitable for the organizer.

Event Handler

Your one stop solution to a successfull event

Having made the case for drop-off events (retail store model), you as an organizer might ask: Doesn't this mean more work for me? Well, yes and no. If you rely on hand written price tags (on which each vendor writes his vendor ID), use calculators at your check out, and you then manually calculate the revenue of each vendor, the answer is yes. So how can you rid yourself of all these time-consuming manual procedures? Enter Event Handler! We developed Event Handler to offer an extremely easy and efficient point of sale solution that does not rely on additional hardware, like bar code scanners.

Bar codes vs. QR codes

Why Event Handler is built on QR code technology

Bar codes carry a significant "invisible burden". The only thing bar codes do, is point to an item in a database. This database contains all the information about an item (its' name, description, price etc.). As a microscale event organizer you DO NOT want to deal with inventory databases, believe us. That is why Event Handler generates QR-Codes, not bar-codes, for each item. QR-Codes carry all item information within the printed price tag. So you don't need to inventorize or create a database. Think of it as a decentralized version of a database, in form of printed price tags. Now that is awesome!

We've got you covered every step of the way

From inventory to invoice

It all starts with vendors creating inventory. This is done by generating a price tag for each item. Event Handler's Vendor Technology allows vendors to do this anytime, anywhere. Setting up a check out counter at your event is just as easy. The integrated Cashier Technology turns your laptop into a full blown point of sale device, no extra hardware needed. And once you're ready to close shop, Event Handler's Bookkeeper Technology generates an invoice for each vendor and you are ready to distribute revenue in no time.
